Hi, I’m Nicola and I have the privilege of working in schools on behalf of the trust in Bishop’s Stortford, Stansted and Sawbridgeworth.
Nicola Williamson
Each day I visit a different school, on some days two, and run lunchtime and after school clubs which are open to all students of any faith, or none. Each club session involves crazy games, plenty of food, the opportunity to explore Christianity and to ask and find answers to some of those ‘big questions’ that many of us have about faith and life.
Over the last term we have covered topics such as;
Who is Jesus? Why is He so important?
Why does God give us freewill?
What is our purpose in life?
How do we live a full life?
What would you say to God if you could meet Him face to face?
What is prayer? How do we pray?

As well as running the clubs, I also take assemblies, visit RE and PSHE lessons and am involved with other special events and projects. Earlier in the year I organised a prayer space which involved completely transforming a secondary school classroom by removing all the chairs and tables and replacing them with a number of interactive prayer stations. The stations encouraged students to explore prayer using elements of the Easter account, this included thinking about;
The World
Saying Sorry
Hopes and Dreams
Big Questions

I am constantly overwhelmed by the thoughts, responses and questions that young people offer. Thank you so much to everyone who supports Stort Valley Schools Trust and enables me to continue visiting schools, spending time with young people and teaching them about Jesus. I can honestly say that I love my job! If you’d like to know more about what’s happening in school, or if you’d like to get involved, please do get in touch.
