Our schools-workers aim to...
U
counter misconceptions about the Christian faith by taking the truth of what a Christian is and what Christians believe into schools
U
encourage young people to develop their moral and spiritual awareness and honestly consider their own beliefs and values through enquiry and discussion
U
raise awareness of the contents of the Bible among young people and show how it relates to modern life
U
support and encourage Christian teachers and pupils in secondary schools

We try to achieve these stated aims by…
U
setting up and running groups in schools - groups for committed Christians and also for those “seekers” who have questions
U
taking assemblies and RE lessons
U
developing strong links with Head-teachers and Heads of RE Departments;
U
developing relationships with Christian and non-Christian young people, and giving them an opportunity to explore issues of life, God and everything
U
supporting and initiating parents’ prayer groups for individual schools
U
facilitating links between churches and schools
U
supporting primary Y6 pupils through their transfers to senior schools with the “Its Your Move” project
U
involvement in holiday clubs like VBS in Saffron Walden and HBW in Bishops Stortford
Schools
Generally our work is in secondary schools but the “It’s Your Move” project in primary schools is very popular.
We give support and advice for 11-year-olds as they transfer to secondary schools. We explore their issues using the story of Joseph.
It is also a very useful point of contact for us in Y7 at senior school.
